International Journal of Science and Technology (IJST) is committed to highest quality and will not compromise on the quality due to the pressure from any quarter hence the double blind peer review system will be rigorously followed. This is done using our Double-blind peer review system to guarantee the authors and the reviewers equal anonymity without any biases of identity influences. That is very helpful in ensuring that our journal is promptly accredited and delivers important knowledge to the international academic community.
1. Manuscript Submission and Initial Desk Review
Upon peer review, all papers are first filtered and evaluated by the Board of Editors regarding their concordance with the journal’s thematic directions, specialisation, and the formats for the submitted materials. This is an important stage where all manuscripts that do not meet basic submission requirements are rejected during this desk review.
Possible Outcomes:
Passed: Manuscripts fulfilling the initial conditions are considered for full peer review.
Revision Required: Original manuscripts which may not meet the required submission standards may be sent back to authors with a request for revision and resubmission.
Rejected: Some manuscripts which do not meet the journal standard or which are in areas unrelated to the focus of the journal are rejected at this stage.
2. Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that are selected for the next step are matched to two scholarly peers familiar with the subject area. The double-blind process maintains that the authors as well as the reviewers do not understand the identity of the other, which leads to independent analysis. It takes two weeks for the reviewers to complete the review and provide detailed comments.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Organisation and relevance of the methodology of the study
- Publication that must be novel in the context of the field
- Oral presentation organisation, and presentation
- The quality of the data analysed and presented
- policing of references and use of prior literature
3. Reviewer Recommendations
Reviewers provide detailed assessments and submit one of the following recommendations:
- Accepted: No changes of the manuscript content and structure are needed to meet all requirements for publication.
- Accepted with Minor Revisions: The manuscript is still fine but there are minor alterations needed after reading the comments of the reviewers.
- Accepted with Major Revisions: Major changes are required, as major modifications of data treatment, paradigms or a profound reordering of contents are required.
- Rejected: This happens when the manuscript fails to meet publication standards due to some basic problems or when it only covers areas out of the journal’s concern.
4. Editorial Decision
The Board of Editors reviews the feedback from peer reviewers and makes the final decision regarding the manuscript’s next steps:
For manuscripts that require minor revisions, authors are given one week in which to resubmit the manuscript.
Where the author is required to make profound changes, this can be done within 2 weeks for resubmission.
5. Revision Stage
These templates include a review summary form where authors receive integrated remarks from all the reviewers and the editors. The authors of the manuscripts have to make changes to their manuscripts according to the feedback received and make a submission of the manuscript together with the completed review summary form that points out how every comment was responded to.
6. Final Review and Decision
The Board of Editors review the revised manuscript to confirm certain alteration prescribed earlier acheiveably to the highest standard. Even at this stage, if the perceived revisions are not satisfactory or feedback details have not been responded well, the manuscript may get rejected.
7. Publication Confirmation
When the manuscript has been through the last appraisal, it goes through a final format for publication; a final layout is then forwarded to the writer for publication endorsements. This stage enables the author to proof read on the final manuscript other than making simple typographical changes.
Author Confirmation: The author cheque and correct the final copy as contained in the article.
Online Publication: The manuscript is published in the journal’s website and open for access to scholars across the world.
