Abstract

This paper presents a comprehensive comparative analysis of battery technologies for electric micro-mobility (EMM) applications, specifically in powering Brushless DC (BLDC) motors. The study evaluates the performance of four key battery types Lead-Acid (Pb-Acid), Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd), Nickel-Metal Hydride (NiMH), and Lithium-Ion (Li-ion) across a range of critical performance metrics, including response time, overshoot, RMS speed, settling time, speed stability, and energy efficiency. By simulating and testing these batteries the research provides a detailed assessment of their suitability for powering electric scoot ers, e-bikes, and other micromobility vehicles. The findings highlight that Lithium-Ion batteries outperform the other technologies, offering superior speed stability, rapid response, minimal voltage fluctuations, and consistent power delivery
